Last month, the accessible restroom she relies on at Keene High was closed for repairs, leading her to miss a week of school. “I wasn’t going to send her to school if she’s going to struggle to use the bathroom. My child’s mental health is more important,” her mom Michelle Gambill said.

Bunnell said he was surprised and disturbed that the city recently cut down about 150 red pine trees along the road, which officials said were either dead or dying and posed a risk to passersby.

Demitria Kirby, a former Keene resident who lives in Middlebury, Vt., feeds her 10-month-old daughter, Cecilia, at their home Tuesday morning after returning from a dialysis appointment an hour away. Kirby is now searching for an organ donor and is in kidney failure, following serious complications giving birth last year.
