50-State achievement at the 46th Clarence DeMar Marathon

When Penny Noll of Camillus, N.Y., crossed the finish line of the Clarence DeMar Marathon in Keene Sept. 29, she achieved a dream: To run 50 marathons in 50 states. Noll, now 72, ran her first marathon at 52, spurring her journey. Learn more about Noll's inspiration and what keeps her going through each 26.2-mile trek.


2024 Keene Ice and Snow Festival

11 ice carvers were stationed throughout downtown Saturday, Feb. 3, during the 21st annual Keene Ice and Snow Festival. The event provided free entertainment and hot chocolate for community members, including a array of activities for children and families in Railroad Square thanks to the Cheshire Children's Museum.

An Aerosol Solution

Dr. Brian Kelly, a doctor at The Christ Hospital, was involved in creating an aerosol box with a local architecture and design company to protect doctors during intubations and other airway procedures in the OR, ER and ICU. The story touches on how this Cincinnati doctor is doing what many doctors worldwide are doing right now— putting to use anything and everything they can to protect themselves and their environment. PPE shortages were a large concern early on. His solution was to create a sealed system that could mitigate the risk of contracting the virus, and act as another layer of protection. 


KEEPING THE COWBELL ALIVE

Ulisis Santiago went looking for quality hand-crafted cowbells and discovered a need for this instrument in the local Latin and American music scene in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Coming from a background of working with steel and his musical talents, Ulisis began to fill a void in the community. He has garnered a great amount of pride and respect from the community, especially the local Puerto Rican community in Wisconsin.
