Semana Santa Photo Essay
Every spring during holy week the streets of Spain fill with religious processions and tourists alike. Weeks and weeks of preparation are required to carry out the elaborate scenes and to practice carrying the heavy floats that contain tributes to various saints and sacred events. These processions can last as long as a whole day. In Toledo, Spain, at the end of my time living there I witnessed their Samana Santa. This short photo essay captures the dark, candle-lit streets of spring 2017.
